Story about a woman in heartache. I'm inspired by weathered walls with posters, peeling paint and all kinds of things in dilapidation. I try to create something new, something beautiful with
these elements. This particular artwork is part of the Collages series. These collages are built up with all kinds of pictures, photos and images that I have collected over the years. I start an artwork with creating a surface by splashing or stamping with watercolor or acrylic paint. Some of the works are created by only arranging photographs in a certain way. Other collages are created with transferred images that are pulled loose or torn. Old and torn, outworn and weathered. Layer upon layer. Most of the works are also worked over with ink, pencil, watercolor or ballpoint pen.
